Austrian Folk inspired gatefold invitations

Here’s where this invitation all started: a gorgeous wedding venue, complete with red shutters and all, in Vorarlberg, Austria.
Together with the bride and groom, we designed a 4 color letterpress (yes, FOUR color letterpress!) invitation suite inspired by some of the traditional, folksy, Austrian motifs (red shutters, embroidered flowers, etc). Not to mention, the Edelweiss flower, the flower of Austria (which is illegal to pick there!) makes a subtle appearance throughout. The suite starts out with gatefold shutters, which open to reveal the invitation, printed on the inside.

We printed coordinating four color letterpressed envelopes too. Fab!
…and a “thank you” card with coordinating liner to boot…
What do you think? I know I am absolutely SMITTEN with four color letterpress. VERY time consuming on the printing side of things, but so so beautiful in the end.
