Illustrated tree wedding invitation

This summer I had the privilege to create a very artsy, laid-back, yet classy letterpress invitation for a gorgeous bride, Brittany. Her wedding was to be at a ranch in Sonoma, California, complete with horses and a beautiful, grande oak tree.
Here are pictures of the invitation:
We chose a playful font for the addresses and printed them extra large on the envelopes so they took up the entire space side to side. We gathered vintage postage stamps from several sources online (Etsy & Ebay). The envelopes and stamps were gorgeous and ended up being my favorite part of the whole invitation suite! I love loooved the horse stamps (soo perfect for a ranch wedding) and the California stamps, which were just a great way to highlight the wedding location.
The invitation suites were tied together with natural twine and boasted little linen hand-stamped tags. The tags were stamped with a customized rubber stamp, using the font and heart illustration from the invitation.
We used a mix of fonts to exude a playful, casual, whimsical flair balanced with a traditional and classy tone. The invitations were backed onto both yellow and green cardstocks, and were letterpress printed in four colors. The tree was hand-illustrated by me, along with the leaves and heart.
The two color RSVP cards came in little mini kraft envelopes in the same style as the outer envelope with a mix of two more vintage stamps (trees and botanical flowers).
Another favorite element of mine was the wedding website card, mini envelope, and mini information booklet inside. Here are pictures of the super adorable booklet:
Inside the booklet guests found information on things to do while in Sonoma, along with a charming custom illustrated map highlighting popular locales, the bride and groom’s wedding location, and their favorite hangout spots.
This was such a natural and elegant invitation, with its earthly kraft elements, muted color palette, and casual fonts. Even though I’ve never met the bride face-to-face (yes…of course we’re now Facebook buddies!) I think the invitation fit her perfectly as she has a down-to-earth gorgeousness and effortless beauty…I’m sure her personality follows suit!
So glad I was able to be a part of this wedding!
